Harrogate Borough Civic Council HQ
Woodfit Fineline slat systems were employed in a splayed orientation to radiate through the Harrogate Civic Council building, from the inner council chamber, through public circulation areas all the way to the external canopies at the outer extents of the building.
Internal areas employed the Woodfit Fineline Acoustic system in White-washed White Oak, providing class B absorption to control reverberation in the busy public offices. External canopies were formed in Siberian Larch, chosen for its natural resistance to weathering.
The system, designed by Farrell and Clark Architects and manufactured by Woodfit presented a considerable technical challenge, as modules both splayed and sloped creating a cambered 3D geometry.
